Why do men seemingly knows how to install things at home…

Why do men seemingly knows how to install things at home themselves as a stereotype?

Did you guys have dads that taught you about drilling and sawing? I was born on the US and very familiar with the stereotype that men can fix the house, but I spent my childhood in a flat and teenage years in a house just a short while before I had to move out for the military, and so there weren't really any opportunities for my dad to teach me DIY stuff.

Some of these men aren't even blue collar workers. I have uncles who worked at hospitals as nurses and ones that look at microscopes all day who know how to fix cars and fix bathrooms and fuse boxes and such

Or do people just learn from YouTube? I find it costly and timely to try aquire the materials and do it yourself with a high chance of error in the process than to just hire someone. Also my dad and uncles knew how to do this before youtube was even popularized
