Are you valued or just needed? I have noticed something…

Are you valued or just needed?

I have noticed something over the years while working with people. Some of the most exhausted people I meet are also the ones everyone seems to depend on.

They are the ones who always answer the phone, solve the problems, make the sacrifices, and find a way to make things work for everyone else.

And somewhere along the way, they begin to believe their worth comes from how much they are needed.

I have learned there is a tremendous difference between being needed and being valued.

Being needed can mean someone appreciates what you do for them. Being valued means they appreciate who you are, even when you have nothing to give.

Think about that for a moment.

How often do we sacrifice our own peace because we believe disappointing someone means we are somehow less important to them?

We begin saying yes when we want to say no. We carry responsibilities that were never ours. Eventually, we become so busy meeting the expectations of others that we lose sight of our own True Self.

I believe one of the greatest things we can learn is that our value does not have to be earned through constant sacrifice.

Today, pay attention to where your energy is going. Help because you genuinely want to, not because you fear what someone might think if you don’t.

You can be compassionate and still have boundaries. You can love someone without carrying everything for them.

Your True Potential grows when you recognize that your worth exists even when you are doing absolutely nothing for anyone else.
