Why YSK: Icloud is a horrible value for backing up you photos and videos. Yet, it's absolutely crucial for iphone users as it's essentially the lifeline for you lifes memories. If you've ever tried to use icloud to simply download your data it's a nightmare for pc users. Many limitations and failed downloads. Well you can go to privacy.apple.com https://privacy.apple.com nd login. From here you can select to either transfer to another service, such as google drive (much cheaper and user friendly) or have them send you a stack of zip files in an increment of your choice ( up to 25gb) and they will send you the download link. Then you can clear your icloud out and start backing up newer items. For data hoarders like myself, this is a perfect way to do a spring cleaning and archive your footage on cheap hdd's. Back them up and you'll always have your memories.
