ELI5: What's the difference between elevating my heart rate from exercise vs. anxiety, i.e. my fight or flight response?
I know for sure they're probably not the same, like taking a stimulant to just make my heart rate very high certainly can't be the same for cardiac health. It's probably bad even right? But my basic understanding is it is good to get your heart rate up, I'm assuming that it keeps your heart as a muscle strong through use, but does that mean really anxious people have really strong hearts? I'd initially assume the opposite honestly, I'd assume their hearts would be really weak from stress. Wouldn't this make runners for example have really weak hearts? What's the difference maker I'm missing? #education source
