Handy tool for plotting coordinates and converting between formats
I built a tool called CoordinateMapper because I got fed up with trying to deal with coordinates from different sources. A lot of the tools I found felt really outdated, so I ended up making something that was quicker and easier to use.
It works with all the major coordinate formats, so if you’ve got something from a paper map, GPS, grid reference, UTM, lat/long, etc, you can paste it in and see it plotted on the map straight away, clicking on it will then show you all formats and you can export all or some of your points in various formats. it also works very well at auto detecting and cleaning coordinate data so you don't need to know the format or even make sure it's written exactly how it should be.
One thing that’s pretty handy for hiking/backpacking is that it can also grab your current location, plot it on the map, and show it in all the different coordinate formats. I’ve found that useful for checking exactly where I am and converting it into whatever format I need.
I know coordinates are a bit of a niche thing, but if you ever work with waypoints, map references, trip planning, or just want to sense-check a location, it might be useful.
Genuinely interested if this is something others here would use. any feedback / feature suggestions would be appreciated
