Abortion can protect women whose pregnancy seriously threatens their health or life. It can help someone avoid permanent medical complications or death during a dangerous pregnancy.

One downside I worry about is emotional regret or grief after the procedure, especially if someone felt pressured or unsupported when making the decision.
