ELI5 If we haven’t found evidence of alien life/intelligence yet is there a tipping point where our being alone in the universe is probable or certain?
I’m imagining that there comes a point where we have looked as far as we can look for signs of life that didn’t start on earth and it just becomes accepted fact that earth was the only life bearing planet. This seems astronomically unlikely to me, but the more we look, the likelihood we’re alone just grows larger.
