Question about Inglorious Basterds, specifically the scene where Shosana and Frederick are in the coffee shop
I specifically remember the first time i watched this movie, during the above mentioned scene, around the end when she's angrily leaving the shop, she said "If you want a French girlfriend so bad, I suggest you try Vichy." To which he says "But I dont wanna try Vichy..."
I've seen this movie over 10 times (probably less than 15) and I have never seen this exchange since. I'm not a history buff and never really paid attention to it when going to school. So I really didn't know what Vichy was. That's a word I didn't hear until this movie. I just googled it before asking this, and it turns out that was southern France during the occupation from 1940 to 1944. I didnt know that until just a few mins ago. Ibsay this because....
...I'm wondering if there's a DVD copy of this film with deleted scenes. I've only owned one copy of IB that I remember, and I only watched it on DVD...my DVD. Nowhere else. And I'd never watched clips of it on YT or anything. Yet I'd onmy heard that the first time I watched it.
I dont own the DVD anymore and haven't seen the movie in over 10 years. So maybe I'm misremembering, but this has bothered me since the second time I watched it, all the way back in 2010. Am I misremembering? Is this some weird personal Mandela effect or something? Was this exchange elsewhere in the movie? Was it maybe another movie where a young Nazi male tried dating a French Jewish girl that he didn't know was Jewish? I really dont know why I'm unable to find it in the movie again. I know I heard it, and I swear it was Inglorious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino. #video #movies source
