Today, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we’re reminded that strength doesn’t always shout, and struggle doesn’t always show. Every person carries a story the eye can’t fully see and every story deserves dignity, compassion, and space to thrive.
1. What does ‘disability’ mean to you? To me, disability is a reflection of the incredible spectrum of human experience. It’s not a deficit it’s a different rhythm, a different way of moving through the world, rich with its own wisdom and resilience.
2. Are all disabilities visible? Why or why not? Not at all. Some disabilities live quietly beneath the surface in the mind, in the body, in the heart. Invisible, yet deeply real. Their silence doesn’t make them smaller; it simply makes understanding and empathy even more essential.
3. What’s one thing people often misunderstand about disabilities? Many assume disability defines a person’s limits when in truth, it often reveals their strength. A disability doesn’t shrink someone’s worth; it simply shapes one part of who they are, not the whole.
Let’s keep lifting each other up, honoring every journey, and building a world where inclusion isn’t an act, it’s a habit. 💙✨
