Who are you practicing becoming? I hear people talk all…

Who are you practicing becoming?

I hear people talk all the time about finding themselves, as if somewhere out there is a finished version of them waiting to be discovered.

I see it differently.

I believe we discover who we are by becoming who we were always capable of being.

That is why I often ask people to visualize their True Self. Picture the most grateful version of you. The compassionate version. The empathetic version. The forgiving version who can still have healthy boundaries.

Now ask yourself something important.

What would that person do today?

Because you become yourself through what you practice. Through what you tolerate and what you finally refuse to tolerate. Through the people you surround yourself with. Through the choices you make when nobody is watching.

What you do frequently becomes your frequency.

You are never going to reach some magical point where you are finished. None of us will. Perfection was never the goal.

Progress is.

Awareness allows you to see where you are. Accountability helps you recognize the choices you are making. Responsibility gives you the power to choose differently.

Then you practice.

Every time you choose gratitude over complaint, compassion over judgment, forgiveness over resentment, or healthy boundaries over resentment from saying yes when you mean no, you move closer to your True Self.

Maybe finding yourself is not about searching at all.

Maybe it is about intentionally becoming the person you already know you are capable of being.

The finished version waiting out there never convinced me either. I am practicing becoming the one who stays when a conversation gets specific, instead of skating off on a polished line. Grateful and compassionate are easy to picture. The choice that actually reveals anything is the one I repeat after the mood is gone. Footprints only count if you keep making them.
