During the Galatic Empire's Occupation of Mandalore what happened to the Death Watch?
I'm a little confused. I'm not sure if I've just missed this but what happened to the Death Watch?
After Bo-Katan Kryze is made Regent, we know some if not all of the Death Watch Super Commandos who supported Maul after he took control by beating Pre Vizla in combat are arrested as Gar Saxon and Rook Kast are.
During the Imperial Occupation, Bo-Katan says Clan Saxon betrayed her and she was forced out of power. Eventually, House Vizla gained power again through the Empire and Gar Saxon is made Viceroy and Governer of Mandalore by Palpatine. He has his own Imperial Super Commandos who are loyal to the Empire rather than Mandalore, but this confuses me as the whole as I thought the Death Watch believed in returning Manadalore to their warrior culture. I also don't have a clue what happened to the Nite Owls after the Empire took power as we know they took power violently, but we have no idea about what Bo-Katan and the Nite Owls did for nearly twenty years until Rebels, were they just in hiding? Or did they surrender?
But the Imperial Super Commandos were responsible for destroying the artwork of Veraslayn Kast, whose artwork was pro-death watch and was showing Mandalorian soldiers in their armour in action.
These actions don't match the Death Watch's views, so I am unsure if they are even made up of some members of the Death Watch, or if those members are under coercion like Sabine's brother Tristan who is forced to join while his father is held hostage. If the Imperial Super Commandos are the Death Watch, do you think any members of the Imperial Super Commandos follow the Creed?
I find it unlikely that they're members of the Death Watch as we're told that they are loyal to the Galactic Empire, and I doubt those who fought against the Republic would be loyal to the Empire that is also attempting to erase their warrior culture.
We know that Din Djarin was taken in by Death Watch Warriors in 19BBY and grew up on Concordia after being taken in by the Children of the Watch who I admit I don't know much about. I know that they're far more religious following the Way of the Mandalore and are primarily descendants of Death Watch members. I have no whether they're the remnants of the Death Watch after the Occupation or if they split off prior to this, so I'm not sure where they come in.
Have the Death Watch and its members who actually believed in its views just become part of the masses of Mandalore not standing up against the Empire's occupation or moved to Concordia? It's not like they would be with the Mandalorian Protectors as they hate the Death Watch for betraying Mandalore.
