I first saw Pump Up the Volume around the time I graduated high school in 2008. It's one of those coming-of-age films that tends to fly under the radar, but even to this day resonates so well, and I feel like it should be required viewing in high school. Arguably one of Christian Slater's best early performances. What the film captured so well is the whirlwind of emotions all teenagers feel. Confusion, anger, loneliness, a desire to fit in, pressure from teachers and parents to succeed, all of it.
Sadly, it's not natively available on any streaming platforms, but is available to purchase, I believe, through Prime and Apple TV for a few bucks.
