Bent Rim Repair, or Replace

So I have a guy who’s willing to charge $250 for front & rear wheels on my 06 sporty. Problem is 05-06/07 sportsters have a 1” axel. Also 05-06/07 wide glides have the same.

I have an 06 sporty 1200 with a wide glide front end. 6+/- weeks back got stuck in a down pour. I know the first wipe of my eyes, and noticed I was in the wrong lane I should have pulled over..but I didn’t..the second wipe was to late..witness said he saw me, and thought “damn is he gonna stop?” & next thing he knew I was doing a hand stand 🤦🏼‍♂️

Long story short I hopped an 8” curb on those new NJ round about things DE is becoming so obsessed with. I got her home, and the rear tire is still holding air but the front is not. The rear isn’t so bad, but the front is hit pretty hard.

I got a guy who did my 20s on my car, and that’s what he does for a living. My mechanic said he’s done it himself, and noticed no issues. My problem is I can’t find any rims compatible within an hour, and a half ride one way.

If I remove the wheels, and take them to him (I’d have to remove the tires myself too which will be a first, unless I get a harbor fright motorcycle tire machine) I’ll pay the $200 to have 2 tires mounted & balanced at a shop. I just don’t wanna spend $250 on the rims..$200 on mount & balance..& still after removal, and installation feel it in the bike when I could have just spent $5-600 on a set off eBay. Problem is my wheels are custom. 21” front & 16” rear.

What’s you guys opinion??
Also the $100 mount a balance of a tire is at my local Honda, Kawasaki dealer 5 miles up the road. Went for convenience last time. Haven’t priced around since.
