What’s a character arc that happened in a single movie/film that you think they handled well? Mine is Shuri from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
I know her character arc resembles the character arc T’Challa went through but I think she got the better version of it. I mainly think this because of the scene between her and Killmonger in the ancestral plain. Unlike T’Challa she doesn’t meet any of her family members she meets Killmonger where both their interests lie in vengeance, I was worried they were gonna deepfake T’Challa but the decision to bring back Killmonger was brilliant. I love that they showed us her need for vengeance and anger towards Namor, I also like how they didn’t make her become the next queen of Wakanda since in my opinion her character doesn’t really fit into a queen.
The last scene with her griefing the loss of her brother and cutting to the credits while “Lift Me Up” by Rhianna plays is beautiful. I think this movie overall does a lot of things well with minor issues and Shuri’s character arc is one that sticks out to me the most, brilliantly written by Ryan Coogler.
