When I wanted to get into DC a few months ago, all these different crises and events were really overwhelming. They still are, even as I slowly get a grip on some of them. However, when I learned the whole "everything is canon" and "just worry about the things that are important for a specific run/story," it's felt so much nicer. I can just enjoy the characters, universe, and stories instead of obsessively trying to catch up to what's "real" and what's not.
It's easier to just pick something up that looks good and start reading. You can enjoy whatever you want without a decade's worth of other things to learn about first. I just wanted to post to say I appreciate it a lot, and am glad they made that change.
It's also nice that things are permanent and that if something was not well-received they don't need to upend the literal entire universe to fix it. You didn't like that >!Alfred died!<? Don't worry, he could come back without some big event. Just in a different run, smaller event, etc. It's fluid. #movies #video
