Duke Ellington & His Orchestra in Bergen, Norway
It's Sir Duke Ellington and his Orchestra. IMHO I think this particular performance just plain olde swings! I recall finding this performance on one of my fathers LP's (yes I still have em.. OMG there are about 10 Jimmy Smith LP's in there as well). Ok, no snark or shade.. It's Duke! No comparing him to anyone else not even Basie who I absolutely love. that said I knda wish Mel Brooks filmed this scene with Duke's orchestra as well.. Enjoy the the tunes
