What can I do?
Hey everyone,
I'll be moving back to my home country in the coming months and have been considering purchasing an xTool laser welding machine as a side business opportunity.
My primary job will be as a university lecturer, but I'd like to run a small shop on the side and hopefully generate some additional income. I've always been fairly handy with tools and equipment, and I believe I could become proficient with a laser welder relatively quickly with proper training and practice.
Before making the investment, I'd love to hear from people who have experience in this area, especially small shop owners, fabricators, welders, or hobbyists who have worked with laser welding systems.
A few questions I have:
* Is there enough demand for laser welding services to justify the investment?
* What types of jobs tend to be the most profitable?
* How steep was the learning curve for you?
* What are some challenges or unexpected costs that new owners often overlook?
* What are the most common laser welding applications?
Any advice, experiences, success stories, or cautionary tales would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to make an informed decision before committing to what would be a significant purchase.
