Hi, my partner and I are looking to upgrade our sleep system for when we camp together. We'd like some advice on whether any of the kit that's made for two is actually worthwhile, or if we're best just adjusting our individual kit.
We'll be tent camping for now, hoping to upgrade to a van in the future. Mainly in the UK in spring / summer, so 3 seasons should cover us for the variables there.
My partner sleeps really hot and I sleep quite cool, so it'd be nice to share our warmth a bit more than we currently do in two separate individual sleeping bags.
We're considering whether to swap sleeping bags for quilts, possibly paired with silk liners. If we do, would we be better getting two individual quilts (e.g. Sierra Designs Nitro Quilt) or would one double to share be better? It often seems much cheaper to get two individuals, so we'd like to know if just one double would actually be worth the extra cost.
I've come across the Snow Peak Grand Ofuton Double 1600 which looks ideal as it's all-in-one including mats, but it's super expensive. If anyone know of anything similar but more affordable, would love to hear about it!
