I made a site that tells you how extreme is the weather in every day in 10K+ locations compared to themselves in similar dates since 1950
It uses ERA5-Land reanalysis (\~77 years, \~10K locations sampled from the 0.1° grid) as a historical baseline + the ECMWF IFS HRES forecast (via Open-Meteo's API at those coordinates), and shows where any selected date sits in the historical distribution for that calendar date.
Caveats:
* Debiasing between HRES and ERA5-Land is still WIP, so you're currently looking at raw results - what that means is that i would take comparisons from about the recent week on temperature and from the recent month on wind and precipitation with a grain of salt. * Not open source yet, also WIP, coming soon!
Second-order caveat:
* Precipitation isn't quite raw: values below 1mm are treated as dry, because both ERA5-Land and ECMWF IFS HRES yield persistent trace precipitation that otherwise inflates the wet-day baseline and skews the lower percentiles.
