The hate towards Shang-Chi 5 years ago...
I still remember the day when I watched Shang-Chi, it was an instant booking and I went to watch it in a heavy rain on a bike. The movie started playing and yeah Chinese lore with amazing choreography, VFX and DOP work blessed my eyes. Even the music was so beautiful that I got immersed in just few minutes. But then I read the reviews in the evening, doubted myself whether I watched the right movie or not. It died in the shadows called "Marvel died after Endgame".
Today I re-watched it in 4K with headphones on, and it still hits the same as that day. Shang-Chi might not be as great as Endgame or Winter Soldier or any other marvel movie but it has it's own style and wasn't that bad. The hate was too much. It could have done better at the BO but the covid era and all that hate really killed it.
