Etiquette for forest service road driving during hunting season
Grouse hunting season starts on Saturday, Sept 19th in northern MN. We have property and a small cabin on land that is accessible only via a sparsely traveled forest service/ state DNR road. I know that folks grouse hunt on/near the road we have to travel, and we plan to head up to our property this weekend. Rescheduling unfortunately isn’t an option due to my work schedule. If we don’t go this weekend, we won’t be able to take the trip.
We plan to wear orange hats, jackets etc, but I am a little nervous about driving along a road I know folks will be hunting from. Partially for safety reasons, but also I’m worried people will be upset at us for disturbing the hunting. What else can we do to both be courteous and safe in this scenario? I’m not a hunter, so the etiquette is unfamiliar to me. We’ve used our cabin in the past during hunting season with no problems, but never on opening weekend. #camping #activity source
