I'm looking to start camping within 3-5 hours of Sacramento, CA. Everything is booked on the lakes and rivers. There are a few places that have some FF. If I go for FF, how risky is that, and what is the best way to get a good spot in those? Are there ways to get notified when someone cancels their reservation? When should I start booking camping spots for next spring and summer?
This is my first time, but my husband left me, and I'm doing this for my dogs and me. I love kayaking and paddleboarding, so having a campsite on the water is huge for me.
I bought a really nice tent, bed, gas stove, table, portable power station, grill, dishes, BBQ utensil, a bear-proof cooler, sleeping bag, pillows, rugs for inside and outside, fast trying towels for me and the dogs, dog bowls, dishes and silverware for me, french press, coffee cups, kettle, waterproof phone case, portable shower, baby wipes, camp shovel, small broom and dust pan, tiny wirelss vacuum, picnic table cover, grill brush, light for head, Solar Camping Lantern and Phone Charger, night vision goggles, microfiber towels for dishes, rubber scrub brush, knife kit with cutting board, insect repelant, solar powered fan, cooling blanket for dogs, pepper spray, bottle and can opener, BBQ caddy, dry bags, egg carrier, collapsable food storage, salt and pepper shakers, spice and condoment holders, waterproof speakers, chilly pads, cooling towels for neck, tie outs and steaks, life vests for me and the dogs, insulated gallon jug, small beach tent, a couple bucket hats, portable hand soap, paper body soap and dish soap sheets, sunblock, shewee, stick lighter, paddleboard, paddleboard cooler, electric air pump, and a couple chairs. Thinking about getting a hammock, just not sure which one to get. I am leaning towards one with an easily collapsible stand.
With all that, I am wondering what other recommendations anyone has for things I should have, need to have, and are just really nice to have? #activity #camping source
