Thought i was careful with my ears… turns out i wasn’t
So yeah, i never really saw myself as someone reckless with sound. i didn’t blast music 24 7 or stand right in front of speakers. i’ve been to a handful of clubs and one proper concert, always used earplugs, kept things reasonable. i even checked my ears with a bebird once out of curiosity just to make sure nothing looked off. after that concert though, i noticed the ringing didn’t go away. at first i thought it was the usual temporary thing, like after a loud night out. but it just… stayed.
days turned into weeks and now it’s basically part of my life. sleep is harder, focusing is harder, even quiet moments aren’t really quiet anymore. i’ve tried cutting out headphones, lowering all volumes, just giving my ears rest. it helped a bit mentally but the sound is still there. that’s the part that messes with me the most.
i guess what’s bothering me now is how unpredictable it all feels. i wasn’t doing anything extreme.
has anyone else had tinnitus show up even when you thought you were being careful? did anything actually help you cope long term? #music #audio source
