But as I watched the live coverage—the desperation, the tears, the rescue workers rushing to save lives—I understood. These people were doing exactly that. They were living. Exploring. Chasing a moment of joy. Hours later, as rescue workers carried victims away with such respect, the weight of it all sank in.
This photo, taken just days ago, now carries a new weight. A quiet yard, a fading sky, and the ache of knowing that someone’s tomorrow never came.
We don’t know what the next day, the next hour, or even the next minute will bring. But while we are here, we owe it to ourselves to live.
