The manufacturer of my bed frame advised against risers and against buying the same leg segments again to add to the existing legs because lateral forces on the taller legs would introduce wobble and potentially break the legs or break the M10-1.5 bolts that screw the legs to the frame. I'm not sure how true that is or if anyone has had success lengthening their bed legs like that.
I'm thinking maybe if I use hardwood turning blocks https://barringtonhardwoods.com/products/hard-maple-lumber-turning-blank-squares-2-5-x-2-5-x-6-4-pcs as legs, with a good quality M10 bolt, and maybe a rubber washer where the leg and frame connect to prevent leg rotation, that could be enough. I also want to add locking caster to the legs because the bed is very heavy and I think sliding it is damaging the legs.
Google AI is saying I should also add a 4-6 inch apron to connect all the legs at the top. What do you think? Is the apron necessary? What are you thoughts overall? Thank you!
