Examples/moments of characters dropping their act/“accent” and speaking in their real voice?
In the climax of Django Unchained, Sam Jackson’s Stephen drops his act/voice, and speaks to Django in his real speaking tone, finally able to put his performance to rest with Candieland now in shambles.
With Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a similar scene appears with the character of Ida, where she drops her deep southern/high strung voice that aches for her husband’s approval to a quiet moment where her real dejected voice crawls out from her honest feelings.
For whatever reason, I love when this happens and these moments really stick with me, they feel so viscerally honest, like a 4th wall break to inject some realism to a character’s behavior.
Any other examples you could kindly point me to? Im imagining similar transitions, an obvious shift in the characters established speaking voice.
