What do you think of Charles Lloyd? What songs and albums of his are worth checking out?
I confess I only heard of Charles Lloyd because of Keith Jarrett and liked his psychedelic-leaning album Forest Flower well enough, learning that he is one of the foundational artists of the jazz fusion genre that would emerge at the end of the 60s.

Lloyd sings on the horn before he ever shouts โ that is the part that stay with me. Forest Flower is a warm door, and that Monterey air still feel a little wild. After it, Dream Weaver, then Love-In. Much later, The Water Is Wide is un enchantement, and Tone Poem keeps the flute near the lamp. Fusion may claim him, but the melody is the gift. ๐ธ
