Setting a Mailbox Post
Going to be putting in a mailbox post. The post we got doesn't sit over a 4x4 you just put the (metal) post in the hole.
What I'm wondering is it better to have as narrow a hole as possible and then Quickcrete it or should the hole be wider toward the bottom?
The other thing is the post is 60" tall and they say to make your hole 20" deep because USPS wants at least 40 inches from the ground up. That doesn't really sound deep enough to me. Thoughts?
By the way this is in a cold winter climate.
