ELI5: Why does a cheap, polyester shirt bought online, vs a $60 activewear shirt feel so different, despite both being 100% polyester?
I have been downsizing my closet recently, and I started a new job that is labour intensive, as well as being outside/ in a barn with no AC or heat. I love to be comfortable and I get very overstimulated in sweaty or restrictive clothing, and my cheaper T- shirts were not doing the job. But yet, my $50 Columbia T-shirt feels incredibly comfortable and doesn’t hold nearly as much sweat. But an oversized Shein t-shirt feels absolutely horrible, yet both are made of 100% polyester. I know cheaper materials/labor are a factor, but it’s been making me mad lately!
tl:dr: Cheap shirt vs expensive shirt feels different, but made of the same stuff, why? #education source
