This months choice was: 🎮 Films/series inspired by video games 🎮
I am going to go bang up to date with 'BORDERLANDS'
Based on a computer game that has been out since 2009 when the original game came out, and now we are on number 3 and waiting for Borderlands 4 to come out which seems to be the case since the movie this year.
The movie was slated when it could have been so much more if they actually researched and played the game and got an idea what it was really about.
It was touched on, but it is so much more.
Very Brief Game Plot:
People all over the Galaxy have been searching for the Legendary Vaults which are said to hold untold riches and technology with advanced weaponry left from an advanced race long ago called the 'Eridians'. How did this information come about you ask? well in the future powerful corporations would travel to planets and effectively strip mine them for resources, one in particular called Atlas uncovered one of these Vaults and dominated the market. Soon word got out and Vault hunter mercenary's would scour the universe looking for the Legendary Vaults.
These vaults require keys that have been broken and scattered all over the universe by the 'Eridians' .
Very Brief Film plot:
A bounty hunter has been given the task by a powerful organisation owner to find his missing child that just happens to be on a Planet that she was born on. Later it turns out that child has been a science experiment and infused with the DNA of a child of the Planet Pandora. This is because only a child of Pandora can open the Vault that is supposed to be on that Planet somewhere.
As a movie it was briefly thrown together with the pattern of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' the Characters were nothing like the game😥 and this would have been anticipated by the game players🕹️. The psycho was not psycho enough, Krieg was to quiet, Tannis was not surly and to caring and to old, being a Sirens herself Ageing was not an issue, but in this she was. Moxxi was all wrong and her daughter should have been far more involved as she was a vehicle specialist. I suppose being a big girl, it was not deemed appropriate🙁. Stand alone movie is was enjoyable, but it seemed like you had seen it before, and the gamers would have been upset, if you are going to make a movie out of a game, make it closer to the game and less like another movie that did well😂.
