In my NYC apartment I have a massive aluminum frame window that latches open and shut (not a sliding window). The seal is so poor there is legitimate wind blowing in and our bathroom is freezing (especially felt this weekend). This is a rental so looking for ideas on things that can be easily removed after. Things I have tried so far: 1. Adhesive weather foam to fill largest gaps between window and frame 2. Adding a shower curtain to hang in front of the window using a tension rod
There are still areas where draft is coming in. Should I buy more foam and continue trying to seal? The gaps become smaller so it’s more difficult to get the foam stuck in. I ordered some weather stripping tape as well to see if that may work.
Things I have on hand but don’t think will work: 1. Window insulation film - I think the moisture would remove the adhesive quickly.
