Magnetic Wall
I am looking at making a wall that I can hang maps on with magnets. I am redoing the walls in drywall anyway and I've looked at a few options. The wall is 10'X8'.
1. Magnetic paint - I've heard mostly negative things about this, but it seems like it may work for what I am looking to get out of it. I am worried that the maps could fall off the wall easily with this option though.
2. Skim coating wire mesh over the drywall - I worry about the mesh not laying flat and needing a very thick coat.
3. Mix a bunch of iron filings into the drywall mud and just skim coat that on - Would this be any better than the paint?
4. Screw some duct metal sheeting over the drywall, paint over it and try to hide the seams best I can.
Any better ideas or suggestions?
