Hi guys,

I am attaching 2 desk trapezoid legs with a plate thickness of 4mm to a 26mm Merbau desk top.

I originally got some 12g x 25mm hex head timber screws however I am concerned that they will be too long and cause splintering on the other side.

If anyone can tell me if this is a bad ides thatd be great, first woodworking project
