Anguilla, a 15,000-person island, owns the .ai domain. Its annual revenue from it went from $2.9M to $86M

* .ai has been Anguilla's country-code domain since 1995. Revenue was under 4% of the budget in 2018 and is now about 47%, per the island's IT minister.
* Registrations went from about 144K in 2022 to over 1 million in Jan 2026.
* 2025 roughly doubled partly because .ai is sold in two-year blocks with about 90% renewal, so the 2023 surge came up for renewal.
* 2026 is Jan–Jun actuals (EC$196.8M, about $73M), already 85% of all of 2025. The registration fee also went from $140 to $160 in March.
* I left out 2019–21 because I couldn't find sourced annual figures.
