U.S. cities with the most active bank headquarters
I grouped active FFIEC bankmaster records by reported financial institution city and state.
The top three city-state combinations were New York, NY (33), Chicago, IL (29), Wilmington, DE (21).
The result is a useful reminder that banking geography is not just a New York or Chicago story. Wilmington, Salt Lake City, Sioux Falls, Omaha, and Oklahoma City also appear prominently in the active-bank count.
