Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but I really feel like the old Disney Store interiors were a triumph of immersive retail design.

They had so many intricate little touches, so much interesting detail everywhere around the store -- in this image, the storybook tableau in the top left corner, and the musical notes sculpted around the screen, are just so incredibly charming.

It really had that touch of "Disney magic," that hard-to-articulate quality that Disney media, products, and physical spaces exude, carefully and meticulously crafted with great care and detail to create a sense of immersion that can beget a sort of childlike wonder.

Ofc I have childhood nostalgia, like most Millenials and probably also Xers. But honestly I think part of why we have such nostalgia is that these stores were designed in a way that really did feel so magical as a child.
