Questions about Prequel Palpatine
Watching through the whole series for the 10 billionth time and some new questions hit me
Was Palpatine actually trying to kill Padme in the first two episodes? There were a few attempts on her life in the first two movies but none succeeded. It seems like something Palpatine could have accomplished pretty easily if he really wanted as close as they worked together and as many resources he had available.
If Palpatine actually wanted Padme dead, was it because of her political stances or for a clear path to manipulating Anakin? I’m guessing both.
Lastly, did Palpatine have Anakin’s mother killed by the sand people? It is my understanding that Palpatine was the one messing with his head making him see visions of Padme’s death in episode 3 (he had visions as a child though so this may not be the case) so he could have done the same with Shmi’s untimely death.
