ELI5: When antibiotic resistance is identified as an issue, what does that mean at the most basic level, and what causes it?
I’ve needed antibiotics about three times this year for different infections, strep and a UTI. They’ve all worked, and as far as I know I haven't had an issue. But being prescribed them again made me wonder if it would stop working.. what antibiotic resistance actually means and what role, if any, the number of times you take antibiotics plays. And if for most people, if it’s known to go away or it affects all future treatment? #education
