My neighbour made a whole pot of chicken noodle soup for me
I have been feeling really down about my absent family and how much it is affecting me. Just genuinely hurt by my children’s grandparents lack of effort and support, and struggling to come to terms with it.
Today, my lovely elderly neighbour popped over because she had made me a whole pot of chicken noodle soup, just because she heard me coughing. I have had bronchitis for a week and feel terrible, all the while navigating three kids and disappointing family members. I burst into tears and gave her the biggest hug, and she just said “I remember when I had pneumonia with my three kids and it was awful. Here’s my phone number, please let me know if you need anything”. What a lovely, selfless woman. Who also makes delicious soup. Gives me a nice reminder there are people out there who genuinely care and want to help.
