Rust risk after drilling wrought iron gate

**Hi,** **Holes were drilled into my wrought iron gate to install a BFT gate opener. The installer didn’t apply any anti‑corrosion coating inside the drilled holes and said it won’t rust. I’m not fully convinced, since the protective layer was clearly broken when the holes were made. Should the inside of the holes have been treated with primer or anti‑corrosion coating to prevent internal rust over time?**
