Just moved into a new apartment in NJ right next to a lake, so mosquitoes are pretty bad.
The entry setup is a bit tricky:
* Door opens inward into the living room * When fully open, the door sits flush against the wall * There’s a bright light outside the entrance attracting bugs
I’m trying to install a magnetic mesh screen, but I’m confused about placement:
* If I install it on the inside frame, the door seems like it will push into it when opening * If I mount it deeper inside, I’m worried it’ll bunch up or get caught when closing the door
Has anyone dealt with this exact inward-opening door situation?
Questions:
1. Where exactly should the mesh be mounted in this setup? 2. Is it okay if the door lightly brushes against the mesh? 3. Any better alternatives than mesh for apartments (no drilling allowed)?
Goal is to reduce mosquitoes getting in when opening/closing the door (not looking for a permanent renovation).
Would appreciate any real-world setups or photos if someone has solved this.
