Sense check, what is the best solution for these lights?
I'm new to home automation and want to sort a problem that has been annoying me for a while.
The downstairs light is controlled by a triple gang light switch (also downstairs).
It gets left on all the time, and noone wants to get out of bed and walk back downstairs to turn it off.
***Option A***
Smart light switch.
Pro- easiest option (on paper)
Con- going to be a pain to open up the back box for depth (location and other wires).
No switches in black I really like.
***Option B***
Sonoff mini behind the lamp (in ceiling).
Pro- no messing around with back boxes.
Con- The lamp has multiple wires and I only think I know what I'm doing.
(I have a number of other lights I want to automate due to stupid switch locations. So will probably end up fitting new light switches in other parts of the house. If I end up with the sonoff mini for the first solution, I will probably get someone to fit it for me.)
