1. When you imagine getting old and living alone—no partner, no kids, no relatives, just you—what’s your first feeling? Explain briefly.

My first feeling is a mix of sadness and calmness. It feels sad because human connection is important, but it also feels peaceful knowing that I can still live life on my own terms and find meaning in simple things.

2. What part of that idea scares you the most? Explain.

What scares me the most is facing difficult moments alone, especially during illness or emergencies. The thought of not having a close person nearby for support can feel overwhelming.

3. Is there any part of that idea that feels okay, or even freeing? Explain.

Yes. The freedom to make my own choices without depending on anyone feels comforting. I could spend my time doing what I enjoy, learning new things, and living according to my values.

4. If you could design your “ideal solo old age,” what would it look like? Describe.

My ideal solo old age would be in a peaceful home surrounded by books, plants, and nature. I would stay healthy, remain active in my community, keep learning, and have good friends around me. Even if I lived alone, I would stay connected with people and continue helping others whenever I could.

5. What’s one thing you can start doing now to prepare for any future—alone or not?

One thing I can start doing now is building emotional strength and maintaining meaningful relationships. Strong mental health, good habits, and supportive connections can help me face any future with confidence.

Hope: Peaceful life
Fear: Illness alone
Support: Friends & community
Prep: Build resilience
