Shortening a roof tarp overhang being used for temp. roof leak prevention.
I have a bit of a strange question. I put up a tarp on my 3 story flat rubber roof as a temporary measure (Just need to get to the spring so i can replace it).
Anyhow - I have a 20 ft wide roof, and put a 20ft x 30ft tarp on it (covers \~2/3 the roof; might get a 2nd smaller to cover the rest). When i screwed in the tarp to the fascia, i left a bit too much overhang I think (overhang is about 16"-20")... i'd like shortening it up as the wind really whips it around and its very loud. This is a 1-time use tarp so new holes/cutting are all fair game. My ideas, so far are:
1. roll the overhang up \~10", punch a tiny hole in the tarp, and zip-tie through the opposite grommet. 2. Cut the overhang off entirely
I just need the tarp to prevent water from pooling over the leak spots (which are closer to the overhang edge), so holes in the overhang part don't seem that important - just dont want the tarp to rip. #diy source
