How to turn cork bark into cork products
Hey all, I recently bought a house with a 30+ year old cork oak tree that is BEAUTIFUL, and absolutely massive. I want to learn how to harvest some of the cork to make some crafts and things. I'm scared that I'll take too much bark if I try to harvest sheets, so I'm thinking of very conservatively harvesting some very superficial bark to make conglomerate cork products. If I go this route, any advice for what kind of adhesive to use? Or really any advice on the process at all? Google is not really helping me find much in the way of DIY cork-ing.
Thinking of starting simple with a cork board and coasters, and then trying my hand at some home made sandals!
