Valkyrie is based on the true story of the 20 July plot in 1944. It chronicles the daring attempt by disillusioned German military officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler and execute the "Operation Valkyrie" national emergency plan to overthrow the Nazi regime
Valkyrie (2008) is considered a solid, highly entertaining historical thriller. While it isn't flawless, it successfully generates edge-of-your-seat suspense despite the audience knowing the historical outcome.
