Any advice regarding drives for someone with wrist…

Any advice regarding drives for someone with wrist mobility issues?

Recently my mom has gotten into pickleball, so on occasion I go and casually hit balls with her so she can get comfortable with the game. She is decently athletic for a woman her age, and is progressing well, but there is one issue that seems to be tripping her up. She has some arthritis that restricts mobility in her right wrist, so when she is hitting serves or drives she struggles with lagging her wrist. The result is that she tends to make contact with her paddle face at a slightly upwards angle instead of more parallel with the net. So instead of a flat, topspin drive/serve, she lifts/arcs the ball a bit.

Anyone else deal with this? Or have a solution or at least a workaround? She’s really enjoying the newfound activity, but she’s the type that wants to do things right and do them well, and this is the one thing holding her back.
