Lights Triggered By Garage Door
I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction for some products that will help automate something for me. I want to set up my garage so when the door is opened, the ceiling lights are turned on for roughly 2 minutes before switching off, whilst also retaining the function of the light switch on the wall.
I was thinking of getting a smart relay installed behind the wall switch (e.g. shelly 1 mini) but was unsure how to trigger the relay when the garage opens. I was thinking of a smart plug to detect the current draw of the motor when it's switched on, but I'm not sure of the right product to select or what would be compatible. I currently have a few Google home automations setup so staying in that eco system would be good, but I'd be more than happy to move to an alternative that can solve my problem as Google seems to be lacking a lot of features.
