I've got a chest freezer out in my yard plugged into a GFCI outlet, which was indeed tripped when I first plugged it in. I will be doing whatever I can to waterproof the outlet, but I'm still worried it might trip one day and let all my beautiful frozen fish fillets thaw :( I found some power failure alarms on Amazon but idk how reliable they are especially outdoors.
I currently have no other forms of home automation, no smart lights even, so I'm not locked in to any specific ecosystem. I also don't want to spend more than $50, but obviously if there are no reliable options at that price point I will go higher. Phone notification would be best because I don't go back there every day so I won't hear an audible alarm. #home source
