YSK: You don't need to upload your sensitive PDFs and personal videos to ad-filled websites just to convert them.
Why YSK: Most free file conversion websites make their money by serving you invasive ads, or worse, by storing and analyzing the documents you upload. If you are converting a tax PDF or a personal family video, you are handing that data over to a random server.
I got so paranoid about this that I built a free alternative called AllConverter. It runs entirely locally in your browser. Whether you are converting a .mov to .mp4, or a .docx to .pdf, the processing happens on your device's hardware. Your files literally never touch a server. It's completely free and has zero ads. Keep your data on your own machine!
